Real culture, Real skiing, Real fun
We were in France and Italy for some great skiing during the 2018 and 2019 winters, and returning in an Olympic year 2026, to the home of the first winter Olympics in 1924.
Those who ski intermediate runs at Western US ski areas are ready to enjoy the adventure. Non-skiing partners are welcome too! The Chamonix Valley is one of the most beautiful Alpine spots on the planet, with no shortage of good food and wine. At 3000 ft, there are no issues with altitude. Access the mountains by Cable Car to take in majestic views.
Our Chalet
WE STAY IN SELECT CHALETS our previous chalet was a beautifully restored 400 year old farmhouse in the Chamonix Valley.

Les Houches
This is the down valley go-to stop on snowy days. A charming area full of French culture with two base villages a variety of lift networks, and rustic on-mountain eating establishments. Home of the Kandahar downhill, you feel the energy of skiing legends who have won here; Jean-Claude Killy, Hermann Mair, Phil Mahre, Andrew Aamodt, and Bode Miller.

Vallorcine/Le Tour
Driving over the pass into the French commune of Vallorcine, you are filled with a sense of timelessness. A connection to community and the natural environment expands your feeling of well-being. After a gondola ride to the top, fun, open and scenic terrain awaits. Skiing Le Tour at the upper end of the valley is a great way to spend a sunny day!

Courmayeur
The weather can be completely different on the back side of nearly 16,000ft Mt. Blanc. There can be a dusting of snow on the French side in Chamonix, after a drive through the tunnel to Italy, there can be 2 feet of fresh fluff up on the hill in Courmayeur. A late lunch stop at quaint Chiecco, with owner Anna’s unique hospitality, tops off the day with great food and wine. After lunch, ski down or ride the cable car.

Aiguille du Midi/ Grands Montets
2 ski spots that provide astounding glacial terrain. Cable cars take you to the top of abundant alpine snow fields with incredible vertical relief below. Skiing off the top of the Aiguille du Midi is a once in a lifetime experience!
